Rollover crash leads to injuries

Independent Star News reader Bill Schuette encountered this accident on Dec. 21 while traveling on Highway D to Rock Springs. He said it was about a mile from where the road intersects Highway 154. According to the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office, the vehicle was traveling north on Highway D when it entered the ditch and lost control, which caused it to overturn and roll, landing on its roof. The driver was initially pinned, but law enforcement was able to get a door open and extricate the operator from her seat belt and vehicle. The driver was taken to the University of Wisconsin Hospital via MedFlight, and the vehicle was removed by Craig’s Towing. Highways D and 154 were closed during the incident. The driver was listed as a Lone Rock woman, who was suspected of having serious injuries. No citations were issued in the crash. Drugs and alcohol were not believed to be factors in the incident. Further details about the driver were not listed. (Submitted photo)
