Curt Meine of the Sauk Prairie Conservation Alliance spoke to the Sauk Prairie Optimist Club on April 28 about the 25-year journey of the former Badger Army Ammunition Plant (BAAP) to what is now the Sauk Prairie Recreation Area.

“My Lucky Life – In and Out of Show Business” by Dick Van Dyke will be the topic of a gathering at 6 p.m. May 28. The memoir covers Van Dyke’s many years as a film, television, and stage actor.

There is no charge to participate.

Past and current conservation measures in the Baraboo River watershed will be the featured topic when the Friends of the Baraboo River holds its annual meeting on Wednesday, May 20, at 6 p.m. at the Reedsburg Public Library. The public is welcome to attend
