On June 4, Scarlet Long, a first grader at Merrimac Community School, was presented the first of four bicycles awarded that day. The Sauk Prairie Veterans of Foreign Wars Lachmund-Cramer Post 7694 sponsored a flag-drawing event for first graders at four area schools: Bridges Elementary School, Merrimac Community School, Tower Rock Elementary School and St. Aloysius Catholic School.
