Jeff Wright, Chanda Kulow, Amy Brehm, Melissa Sumwalt, and Maelvy Ramirez of the Sauk Prairie School District were thanked at the April 29th Optimist Meeting. After the Blue Spoon closed, the Optimists had no place to meet for their occasional noon meetings. The District stepped into the void and offered space for noon meetings, including helping with A/V needs and room set-up. Not pictured: Vickie Fenske.

On June 4, Scarlet Long, a first grader at Merrimac Community School, was presented the first of four bicycles awarded that day. The Sauk Prairie Veterans of Foreign Wars Lachmund-Cramer Post 7694 sponsored a flag-drawing event for first graders at four area schools: Bridges Elementary School, Merrimac Community School, Tower Rock Elementary School and St. Aloysius Catholic School. The event was designed to raise patriotic awareness as students were challenged to draw a United States flag. Upon completion, the first graders’ names were placed in a raffle for the bicycle being awarded at each school.
