Just a quick reminder that the Spring Green Community Library will be closed on Wednesday, December 24th and 25th for the Christmas Holiday as well as January 1, 2026 for the New Year. We will also be closing at 5pm on December 31st.

Naturally Speaking: Frost rings in trees

The next time someone asks how cold it is — or if is it cold enough for you — one answer could be cold enough for tree rings to show as rings of frost. Here a post made from a small tree trunk gives up frost from moisture coming out of the cells and more moisture coming from the larger cells formed in the early growth of each tree ring.
