Rough week

STOUGHTON — It’s never a good sign when your starting point guard enters the court on crutches. That was the situation when Sauk Prairie’s boys basketball team played its first road game of the season at Stoughton on Dec. 3 with senior Ben German sidelined with an ankle injury.

They battled. They fought. In the end, though, the hole was simple too big to escape. Wisconsin Heights’ girls basketball team dug itself a 15-point halftime deficit on Nov. 26, rallied back, but eventually fell to host Lakeside Lutheran, 47-41.

Five Heights spikers named all-league

Wisconsin Heights’ girls volleyball team enjoyed a terrific year, finishing in second place in the Southern Capitol Conference and reaching a WIAA Division 4 regional final. Not surprisingly, the Vanguards were justly rewarded when it came time for all-conference honors.

Heights girls split first two games

Wisconsin Heights’ girls basketball team split its first two games of the season last week. The Vanguards defeated Pardeeville, 57-27, last Tuesday. Defending WIAA Division 5 state champs Black Hawk then downed the Vanguards, 76-37, last Friday.
