Heights girls roll by Riverdale

Bill Sullivan wanted intensity, concentration, passion. His Wisconsin Heights girls basketball team listened. The Vanguards rallied from a 5-point second half deficit and toppled host Riverdale, 55-48, last Tuesday. Heights improved to 3-2 overall.

Heights boys split two

Wisconsin Heights’ boys basketball team split a pair of games last week. The Vanguards defeated Dodgeville, 61-47, last Friday. Heights also dropped a 77-48 decision to Lakeside Lutheran on Dec. 10. Heights is now 3-1 on the season.

Vanguard Volleyball Alumni Tourney The third annual Vanguard Volleyball tournament on will be held on Dec. 28. You can choose players to represent a year or a combination of years. The entry fee is $20 and includes a T-shirt. If you’ve played before and don’t need a shirt, the cost is $10 to play.

Rider powers Sauk Prairie wrestlers

Austin Rider weighed in at more than 60 pounds under the heavyweight limit at the 55th annual Sun Prairie Bob Downing Scramble last Saturday. But that didn’t make a difference in the outcome as the Sauk Prairie senior earned his first-ever tournament title, pinning his way to the championship at 285 pounds.

Sauk-Heights swimmers win conference relays

Sauk Prairie/Wisconsin Heights recorded three first-place finishes, while Baraboo claimed two titles at the annual Badger North Conference Relays held at Jack Young Middle School on Dec. 10. But Sauk Prairie/Wisconsin Heights and host Baraboo shared the team championship with 100 points each. McFarland finished a close third with 94 points.

That’s more like it. Wisconsin Heights’ girls basketball game entered its game with Johnson Creek last Thursday on a two-game losing streak. But the Vanguards put an end to that with a 67-24 destruction of visiting Johnson Creek.
