Sauk Prairie wrestlers heating up

It was the perfect setting for one of the Sauk Prairie wrestling team’s best performances of the season. The host Eagles celebrated ‘Youth Night’ and ‘Take Down the House Night’ with a convincing 51-25 victory over Beaver Dam/Wayland Academy in a Badger North Conference dual last Thursday night.

Heights boys split a pair

Wisconsin Heights’ boys basketball team split a pair of games last week. The Vanguards defeated Waterloo, 73-49, last Friday. Heights also lost at Cambridge, 68-59, last Tuesday. In Heights’ win over Waterloo, De’Shawn Barsness had a game-high 23 points. Devin Brabender added 19 points.

It was a tale of two ends of the spectrum, the highest of highs and the lowest of lows for the Sauk Prairie girls basketball team last week. The Eagles began the week by rallying from a five-point halftime deficit to soar past visiting Lodi, 60-49, on Jan. 21.

Heights cruises by Belleville

Wisconsin Heights’ girls basketball team headed to Marshall Tuesday night. And with a win, the Vanguards could move into a first place tie in the Southern Capitol Conference. That’s because Heights rolled past Belleville, 71-52, last Thursday and stayed within one game of first place Marshall in the league.

Heights girls split two games

Wisconsin Heights’ girls basketball team has played 13 games this season. The Vanguards haven’t won more than two games in a row, or lost more than two straight. Heights continued that up-and-down pattern last week when it dropped a 42-39 decision to visiting Cambridge last Tuesday, then followed that with a 66-55 win at Waterloo last Friday.
