Hunting: An important social distancing activity

Recently, I enjoyed one of my favorite social distancing activities. With the opening of the archery season in Wisconsin, I spent several hours in my tree stand in pursuit of white-tailed deer with my bow. I enjoyed the fresh air, quiet woods and time to reflect while working to fill our freezer.

Stanek column: This old hunter can still bag a buck

Can you believe it’s bow season already? Weren’t we all just putting on sunscreen and taking the kids to the pool?

To be honest, I completely forgot until my mom texted me this weekend with some wonderful news about my dad.

He’d shot a buck on opening day and, boy, was it a whopper: An 11-pointer.
