Reedsburg Common Councilman donates salary

Reedsburg Common Councilman Tom Seamonson donated his yearly salary of $3,100 to the splash pad project. The slpash pad also recently received a large anonymous donation from a separate party.

Early voting has begun

Reedsburg residents who’d prefer to vote before Election Day can do so now at Reedsburg City Hall.

Early voting opened Oct. 20. Normally, this option would be offered for the whole month prior to the election but courts changed the date this year.

City Hall is open from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays. Be prepared to show a photo ID.

Like most organizations, Reedsburg Young Professionals has had an odd year due to COVID-19.

Meetings have been pushed back and events cancelled, but the group is determined to create at least one public outing this fall.

WCCU offers to shred documents

WCCU, 820 Viking Drive, will hold a shred event from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Oct. 17.

Visitors may have up to three boxes of unwanted documents shredded for free.

Shredding is done to destroy any documents that may contain sensitive or personal identification.

Officials have begun the search for a new head of Sauk County Public Health.

Tim Lawther resigned as of this week. Following his departure, Deputy Director Cathy Warwick stepped up to be the interim leader.

Reedsburg Area Medical Center ranked first in Wisconsin and No. 43 for the nation as a top medical provider/facility. RAMC was one of only two Wisconsin locations chosen for the list.

Book sale supports food pantry

Main Street Books has launched its Bargain Book Sale to benefit the Reedsburg Area Food Pantry. Sales will take place noon to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday through October, as long as weather cooperates. Sales will take place outside along the sidewalk. Inventory will be updated daily.
