State-ranked Beaver baseball team wins 4 lopsided games

In a high school baseball season that has already featured a few dominant weeks for the Reedsburg Beavers, none of them was more dominant than this past week as Reedsburg won two league games over Stoughton before sweeping a non-conference DH at Onalaska, outscoring the opposition, 45-3 in the four games.

Weston shows mixed results on baseball diamond

Because of a postponement, Ridge and Valley games occurred on back-to-back days last week for the Weston Silver Eagles on the baseball diamond. Weston was postponed last Monday with La Farge, and the make-up date was a rare Wednesday contest in Cazenovia, followed by the short trip to Ithaca the next day.

Valley baseball loses tough one at Lancaster

It was indeed a rarity at this time of year last week for the River Valley Blackhawks on the baseball diamond, with only one scheduled game. That was a Friday matchup at Lancaster, and it was a 4-2 loss as the home team rallied late for the win.

R-V track and field looks at 3 meets this week

The River Valley track and field program took advantage of some beautiful weather as they competed last Tuesday at the Prairie du Chien Relays. R-V had a strong fourth-place team finish among 14 schools with Lancaster and Viroqua placing 1-2 while the Valley boys placed eighth with Prairie du Chien and Platteville 1-2 in the boys team race.

Beavers win team titles Friday at Betsy De Merit Track and Field Invite

Reedsburg joined other Badger Conference foes Baraboo, Beaver Dam and Portage in a four-team Track and Field Invite last Tuesday in Portage. The Beaver girls placed second behind Baraboo while the boys tied with Portage for second behind Baraboo in the team standings.

Weston baseball looks to pair of key conference games this week

Last week began with a tough loss to swallow for the Weston Silver Eagle baseball squad in a 4-3 loss to Seneca Monday in Caz. Some misplays and mistakes helped Seneca jump out to a 4-0 lead by the middle of the game, but Weston rallied to within a run and had the bases loaded in the last of the seventh when the final out was recorded.

River Valley softball starts with 5 games this week

It may have been the best win of the year so far for the River Valley Blackhawks on the softball diamond last week on April 20 as R-V took down a traditional contender from Badger Small, Mount Horeb, by a score of 7-5.

Valley soccer remains unbeaten with 2 more conference wins

Not only have the state-ranked River Valley Blackhawks girls soccer team yet to suffer a defeat this season, they haven’t even allowed a goal as the 5-0 Blackhawks kept the shutout streak alive this past week with a 1-0 win over Platteville and a 6-0 win over Galena, Illinois, both conference victories as well.
