Letter: Texas’ Abbott threatens funding over Israel

Governor Greg Abbott (R-TX) threatens to cut funding to San Marcos if the city embargoes Israel.

It's important to note that in 2021, two former Israeli ambassadors to South Africa, Ilan Baruch and Alon Liel, co-authored an op-ed concluding that Israel had become an apartheid state.

Nature and Society: Weather and cuts

Life feels more precarious than it used to. That's partly because I'm old and life IS more precarious. But part of my insecurity comes from places that surprise me. We can never remember how long we have been doing this. Has it been 56 years or 57? We started our weekend trips in 1968, I think, but maybe it was 1969. We tried to figure it out based on pregnancies.  Cookie's mother told her pregnant women should not go camping and sleep on the ground; but we went anyway.

Letter: Trump is a con man

It's time to face the facts and admit we have been conned by one of the biggest con men ever. He is a charismatic narcissist defined as someone who can get people to do things against their best interests. His name is Donald J Trump.
