Deadline approaches to enroll in Marketplace insurance

Those who have or need health insurance through the government Marketplace need to act soon.

The deadline to renew or enroll in a new plan is Dec. 15. Plans take effect Jan. 1 if the person or family enrolls and the first month’s premium is paid before the first.

Those who don’t act by Dec. 15 can’t get coverage for 2021 unless they qualify for a special enrollment period.
