LaVerne (Verne) Edward Siverling

LaVerne (Verne) Edward Siverling
LaVerne (Verne) Edward Siverling, age 74 of Reedsburg, Wisconsin passed away peacefully on September 22, 2026 and passed into eternal glory (at Reedsburg Area Medical Center) after many years of health struggles.
Verne was born on March 9, 1952, to Norman and Edna (Stipek) and was the oldest of nine children. He spent his early years on the family dairy farm outside of Cadott, Wisconsin, where he helped milk Holsteins and learned the value of hard work and family.
He graduated from Cadott High School in 1970 and went on to attend UW River Falls, earning a Bachelor’s degree and teaching certificate in Agricultural Science in 1974.
On July 31, 1976, Verne was united in marriage to his wife, Marcia (Finn). Together, they made their home in Reedsburg, Wisconsin, where they raised their three children: Steve, Becky, and Kim. In March of 2023 Verne became a grandpa to Landon and Garrett, and was known to have endless candy supply waiting for them whenever they would visit.
Throughout his lifetime, Verne wore many hats. He worked as a teacher, feed salesman, and medical equipment driver, and he also served for several years as a Reedsburg City Councilman and a volunteer at a local nursing home. Verne was never afraid to share his opinion and always had something to say. He was a man of strong faith who cherished his family and enjoyed cheering on the Green Bay Packers. He also enjoyed playing card games, woodworking, and spending time creating things with his hands.
Verne had sense of humor and was especially fond of telling dad jokes, whether they were eagerly welcomed or met with the occasional eye roll. He had a playful spirit and a twinkle in his eye that often gave away when he was up to something. He especially enjoyed wearing his favorite Brut cologne, much to the delight—or perhaps dismay—of his daughter, whom he loved to make holler about the brutely awful smell of it.
Verne is survived by his wife of 50 years, Marcia, his children Steve, Becky (David), and Kim, grandchildren Landon and Garrett, as well as his 8 siblings, inlaws, and countless other family members. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Norman and Edna (Stipek) Siverling,
