Nature and Society: Laid up while dealing with mice

I have been laid low by my affection for mice. There is a drain in our greenhouse. It has a cover that fits neatly over it, but the cats love to play with it and knock it off. That leaves an open drain, into which a thirsty mouse could easily fall.
