As a government reporter, I watch a lot of public meeting, from city councils and county boards, to criminal intake hearings and public listening sessions, to basically everything in-between.

New Year Resolutions
It’s still January and there’s still time for two resolutions for 2021:
#1: Let’s improve how we communicate with each other. We need to get beyond the sensationalist “news” coverage on cable shows like Fox, OAN, NEWSMAX, CNN, MSNBC, etc.

In the center of every great school is a great library. We are fortunate in our district to have a library media center staffed by dedicated library media specialists and assistants that help our students and staff find what they need.
We knew this was coming. No, not the insane assault on Congress. That certainly took me by surprise. But we knew cold, dark, bleak January was coming, along with its gloomy companion, February. Combined with our long, drawn-out COVID isolation, that's a pretty toxic situation.
Four years ago, a minority of Americans, through an antiquated and fatally flawed Electoral College, elected Donald Trump president. His motto was “Make America Great Again.” His motto should have been “Make America White Again” based on those who chose to follow him.
People have been speculating about Donald Trump’s legacy as president, besides his bungling of the COVID pandemic, and his instigation of the insurrection that resulted in at least five deaths and significant damage to the nation’s Capitol.
