Pets of the Week: Spot and Ritz
The Sauk County Humane Society has unveiled its featured pets, with comments from shelter staff. They are as follows.
Spot is a 1-year-old terrier mix with a big personality packed into a 22-pound frame. He came to us as an unclaimed stray, but he’s more than ready to leave that chapter behind and find a home of his own. Spot is an active, intelligent little dog who loves having something to do, whether that’s going for walks, exploring the yard, or learning something new. He’s eager to work with people and would thrive with someone willing to continue his training and help him fine-tune his manners. Like many young dogs, he can be enthusiastic and express his excitement with a few jumps, so he’ll do best in a home without small children. Spot prefers to be the only dog in the household, but he has shown that he can be respectful around easygoing cats. If you’re looking for a fun, energetic companion who’s always ready for the next adventure, Spot might be your guy. He is neutered and up to date on his vaccinations.
Ritz is a 2-year-old orange male cat who came to the shelter when his owner was moving. Like so many orange cats, he’s packed with personality, charm, and just the right amount of mischief. Ritz is outgoing, confident, and always ready to investigate whatever is happening around him. He’s comfortable being picked up and carried, making him an easy companion to spend time with. When it comes to playtime, Ritz is all in. Tunnels, hanging toys, toy mice, balls...if it’s a cat toy, chances are he loves it. He’s also developed quite the appreciation for catnip and never turns down a chance to enjoy his favorite indulgence. Independent but friendly, playful but affectionate, Ritz is everything people love about orange cats. Orange boys really are something special, and Ritz is no exception. He is neutered and up to date on his vaccinations.
