Geraldine ‘Gerry’ Hess Schwichtenberg

Geraldine ‘Gerry’ Hess Schwichtenberg, 95, of Spring Green died on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Schmitt Woodland Hills. She was born on June 5, 1930, in Sauk County the daughter of Harold and Carol (Luxton) Tennant. Gerry graduated from Cazenovia High School in 1947, and she continued working on her parent’s farm in Happy Hollow. On July 31, 1948, she married Edward A. Hess, who passed away on September 14, 1973. She worked at Hankscraft and the UW. Gerry married Cecil Schwichtenberg on November 25, 1975, who passed away on March 10, 2019. She and Cecil worked together painting houses, new and old, both inside and outside. Gerry retired to take care of her parents.

Gerry is survived by her daughter Linda (Dan) Phetteplace of Spring Green;

several great-grandchildren;

Brother-in-law: Jerry (Geneva) Schwichtenberg;

Sister-in-law: Opal Beighley, Joyce Zimbar, Judy Adrian;

Many other nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Gerry was preceded in death by her parents Harold and Carol Tennant; husbands Edward Hess and Cecil Schwichtenberg, brothers Harold (Effie) Tennant, Robert (Janice) Tennant, brothers-in-law Harold Burkehalter, Leslie Holloway, Clyde Beighley, Carl and Earl Schwichtenberg, sister-in-law Pat (Maynard) Driscoll, and great-grandsons Jaxx Henry and Chance Ruetten.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the Pratt Memorial Chapel with burial to follow in the Loyd Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at the Pratt Memorial Chapel from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at 11:00 AM. The Pratt Funeral and Cremation Service is assisting the family with their arrangements.
