Hydrant flushing, water main maintenance underway

Reedsburg residents will see Utility workers flushing hydrants and working on water mains in October.

Flushing is necessary to ensure adequate water flow and pressure. It also removes sediment from the pipes, which maintains water clarity and quality.

Work will take place from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays.

Discoloration can happen in tap water when flushing occurs. If this happens, run the cold water for a few minutes until it runs clear. If it doesn’t clear, wait a few minutes and try again. Rest assured this water is safe to drink.
