Base Camp celebrates small town living
Doug and I have found so many positives about living in small town America. We opened Base Camp with our first loyalty being to the Wisconsin Heights area; creating a comfortable gathering place that might help to revitalize the downtown. After over 5 years at Base Camp, except with the last few months, we have met our goals. So many wonderful people have come through our doors and we recently found out another benefit of life in a small town.
Out of the blue, Tom Gorman from the People’s Community Bank called me to see if I was putting in an application for a Paycheck Protection Plan Loan/Grant from the bank. It hadn’t seemed hopeful; most of the money seemed to be going to larger businesses. With much guidance, due to some of my technical challenges, I was led by Tom and the SBA Team at the bank, and was approved. It’s not a huge amount, but it means everything to us that we were so well looked after. This would not have happened anywhere else. Thanks for reinforcing the reason that we made our life-changing move out here.

Dear Editor,
We would like to thank all our volunteers for working the blood drive Saturday, April 11. Thank you for taking temperatures and disinfecting the church. A BIG thank you to the 31 blood donors. Yes, surgeries are being cancelled but accidents and emergencies are still happening. The next local blood drive is Saturday June 6th, 8:00 a.m.-noon, at Midland UMC.
