Volleyball serves up a big win for Homecoming

The River Valley High School volleyball team hosted Lancaster for the Homecoming game and annual fundraiser night. This year the team chose Anthony Marck, a third grade student at River Valley Elementary. This time last year his world was turned upside down when he was diagnosed with T cell lymphoblastic Leukemia. Marck has gone through a lot since his diagnosis: multiple hospital stays, rounds of chemo, and most recently a bone marrow transplant. Through all the obstacles he has remained strong, carefree, and happy. Marck’s favorite colors are blue and green. So, the teams honored him with River Valley in blue and Lancaster in green special shirts for the night. The teams sold over 200 shirts and 800+ bracelets, had a bake sale, and a buck run with all proceeds going to the Marck family. (Home News photo by Steph Hegland)
