Spring Green EMS was formed 50 years ago


On Saturday, September 17, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., the Fire and Spring Green Emergency Medical Services (EMS) departments in Spring Green are having an open house and awareness day. The community is invited to the station, 237 S. Winsted Street, to see what the departments do and remind everyone how to stay safe when an emergency arises. The awareness day will include live local music, fire truck rides, fire hose spray competitions, Jaws of Life demonstrations, Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and Wisconsin River Project life jacket safety and canoe/ boating safety, Med Flight, the Spring Green Police Department, Alliant Energy “Wires and Fires”, free blood pressure and blood sugar checks, a raffle, food and drinks. The police department will have a “Drug Take Back” event during the day as well. (Home News photo by Linda Schwanke)

Two years ago, the Spring Green EMS team began planning a 50th anniversary celebration, which would have been in December, 2020.
