Historical Perspective: The Birth of Sauk County

Prehistoric peoples inhabited what was to become Sauk County in the State of Wisconsin between eight and ten thousand years ago. Signs of their habitation have been found in a rock shelter beneath the Natural Bridge near Leland and at other locations in the county.
