Bradford Bison presentation at Tripp draws a crowd

The 20th Anniversary of the Bradford Bison Discovery was celebrated at the Tripp Heritage Museum in Prairie du Sac on November 8. After the rare Bison occidentalis finding in November 2005 in the Wisconsin Riverbed by 7-year-old first grader Josh Bradford, along with his Kid’s Companion Bob Weiss, it was kept at the Wisconsin Historical Society. Then later, transferred to the UW-Madison Zoological Museum. With the combined efforts of Bob and Joan Weiss, Jody Kapp Berndt, and Craig Culver, the Bison skull came back home to Sauk Prairie in May 2012, where it can be seen today on display in the main gallery at the Tripp. The 2025 celebration at the Tripp Heritage Museum featured Dr. Amy Rosenbrough, Wisconsin State Archeologist, and special guests seen here: Bob Weiss, at right, and Josh Bradford, at left.
